What we collect

When you create a poll, we store the poll name, questions, and an anonymous session identifier generated in your browser.

When you respond to a poll, we store a one-way hash of your anonymous identifier to prevent duplicate responses. Your raw answer text is passed to an AI model for summarisation and then discarded — it is never persisted in our database.

We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information unless you explicitly provide it.

Cookies and local storage

We use a single first-party cookie (ts_anon_id) to maintain your anonymous session across page loads. This cookie contains a random UUID and is not used for tracking across sites.

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

AI processing

Poll responses are sent to OpenAI (via OpenRouter) for summarisation. OpenAI processes data under their API terms of service. We do not share response data with any other third parties.

The AI is instructed to rewrite responses so that no individual phrasing remains identifiable in the summary.

Payments

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. FranklyAsk never stores your card details. When you upgrade a poll, your payment information goes directly to Stripe's secure infrastructure.

Data retention

Poll data (questions, summaries, and anonymous response counts) is retained for as long as your poll exists. You can delete your polls at any time.

AI-processed summaries are stored indefinitely unless you delete the poll.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personally identifiable information, we cannot link data to a specific individual. If you have concerns about data associated with a poll you created, contact us and we will delete the poll and all associated data.
